DE GRAAFSCHAP 1 – 2 WILLEM II
A Jorge Andrade penalty in the last kick of the game gave Willem II the 2-1 win over De Graafschap to take the Tilburg side top of the Eerste Divisie. Jurgen Streppel’s side now hold pole position for promotion to the Eredivisie, two points clear of second-placed FC Dordrecht with four games to go.
The visitors got off to the perfect start when top scorer Ruud Boymans fired the ball underneath the crossbar from a great Terell Ondaan move from the right wing to put Willem II in front after just four minutes played.
The league leaders held the game into hostage and deterred any De Graafschap attack until twenty minutes of time remaining. The Super Farmers equalised through midfielder Robin Pröpper and when the hosts looked to have stopped Willem II’s title charge, the visitors were awarded a penalty in injury time.
Boymans got bundled over in the area and referee Pol van Boekel pointed to the spot, three minutes into stoppage time. After Jorge Andrade sent Theo Zwarthoed the wrong way, Van Boekel blew for full-time and Willem II had stole all three points to head top of the pile.
