FC GRONINGEN 1-1 FC TWENTE
The in-form Dušan Tadić scored the equaliser as Groningen held Twente to a 1-1 draw which meant the Enschede side missed the opportunity to move just two points behind league leaders Ajax.
The hosts ended a three-game losing streak and got off to the perfect start after Hungarian striker Krisztián Adorján, on-loan from Liverpool, gave Erwin van de Looi side the lead with only five minutes gone.
Tjaronn Chery played Hans Hateboer down the right-wing, and after the young full-back whipped in a cross to the back post the Hungarian rose to head towards goal. Twente defender Andreas Bjelland tried to clear of the line but the ball was adjudged to have crossed the line. The Euroborg erupted with a sea of green and white celebrating.
For the visitors it took them most of the first-half to get into the game, but shortly before the interval full-back Dico Koppers found the unmarked Youness Mokhtar, whose shot was parried wide by goalkeeper Marco Bizot.
After the half-time team talks, both sides had chances but Twente eventually showed their position in the league and found the equaliser on 77 minutes. Kyle Ebecilio played a pass through to Luc Castaignos in the area and the young striker held off the challenge of Lorenzo Burnet to fire a ball across the goal. Serbian midfielder Dušan Tadić was available on the edge of the six-yard box to fire home with his tenth goal of the season.
