Philips Sport Vereniging (PSV) was founded in 1913 as a football team for ‘Philips’ employees and the Eindhoven side has found many successes over the years and also can claim to be never relegated from the Eredivisie.
The club is going through a transitional period as they enter their second year under head coach Philip Cocu, and will look the talents of Memphis Depay, Georginio Wijnaldum and Jurgen Locadia to lead them to glory.
Very much a young side, Cocu has brought some experienced heads into the team since taking over, including midfield stalwart Stijn Schaars and this summer adding Luuk de Jong to his attacking options. Obviously, an Eredivisie title would be a the best possible option this coming season for PSV, however, Champions League qualification would a welcome start in the right direction.

PSV’s history contains two golden eras revolving around the UEFA Cup victory in 1978 and the 1987–88 European Cup victory as part of the continental treble in 1988. The team has won the Eredivisie 21 times, the KNVB Beker and the Johan Cruijff Schaal, both nine times.
Throughout the years, PSV established itself as a stepping stone for future world class players like Ruud Gullit, Romário, Ronaldo and Ruud van Nistelrooy.
